About Shabana Kauser

I was born and raised in the UK, and my work often reflects that. I moved to Northwest Arkansas over 10 years ago, I found my passion for creating. I formally introduced my art in 2017, and have since shown my work in galleries, international art fairs, and museums around the US. My work continues to grow reach year, and I enjoy the learning aspect of all things art, community and learning how my work connects with people.

I create portraits that explore South Asian representation through a blend of traditional and untraditional compositions. My work begins with the use of my own fabrics, jewelry, and real life models, allowing me to stage compositions rich in cultural significance and memories.

In my detailed oil paintings, I focus on capturing the finest details, striving for authenticity in every brushstroke. My art tells the stories of the immigration experiences of many of the women in my life, embodying their strength, beauty, texture, and empowerment. I aim to foster connections, inspire dialogue, and invite viewers into an intimate experience of my voice and journey.
