ABOUT SMP BRASS BAND

Led by Arkansas musician and show producer Anthony Ball, SMP Brass Band is a high-energy ensemble that blends the spirit of New Orleans brass bands with funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, and pop. The group transforms familiar songs into fun, horn-driven arrangements that invite audiences to dance, sing along, and become part of the experience.

Inspired by the rich musical traditions of New Orleans while embracing today’s sounds, SMP Brass Band delivers performances that feel equally at home on festival stages, community celebrations, and arts venues. From second-line classics and reimagined pop favorites to original arrangements, the band creates an infectious atmosphere built on joy, connection, and musical excellence.

SMP Brass Band is a project of Anthony Ball and Smoothman Music Production, a Northwest Arkansas entertainment company that has produced live entertainment for hundreds of concerts, festivals, weddings, corporate events, and community celebrations throughout the region. Beyond the stage, Ball is also the co-founder of Music Moves, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to music education and celebrating the cultural impact of Black music through performances and educational programming.

At its core, SMP Brass Band exists to celebrate community through music—bringing people together one unforgettable groove at a time.
